Au marche

Sunday 1 June 2014

Blog post dictated by Miss 7

Today was our first whole day in Paris.  This morning I made a breakfast café in our kitchen.  On the menu were tea and coffee, apple and orange juice, Special K, Weet Bix, Alpen muesli, fruit of your choice, toast with jam and pain au chocolat.
After breakfast we went to bird market and the flower market which are next to the Notre Dame cathedral. When we walked out of the metro we got our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower.
This is a picture of Dad and the boys outside the Metro at the bird market.  It was really cool seeing all the birds at the market and we also got to pat some bunnies. After the bird market we went to the Bastille Market.  This is the statue at the Place de la Bastille.
The market was very busy. At the fruit stall the man gave us some watermelon to try.  We bought some cherries and the man selling them had cherries on his ears like earrings.  We also bought some strawberries and the man gave us some extra apricots for free.  In the market there were lots of people talking in French.  You could smell fish, fruit ,meat, cheese, vegetables and pancakes.  We bought some cheese and the man gave us some to eat.  We also bought some olives  and the man gave us some to try.  Mum bought sausages for dinner.  For lunch we had crepes and I had crème caramel on mine.  It tasted really nice and sweet.

After lunch we looked at little bit more of the market and then we went home on the Metro.  The market was really nice.
